One Mo Chance

Before I start, let’s go ahead and get this part out of the way:

Mo Williams stunk in the playoffs.  He couldn’t hit water if he fell of a boat and he darn sure couldn’t run the team like a veteran point guard.  He was inconsistent throughout and subpar at best.

Now with that being said, Mo Williams is still a heck of a player.  He’s played a fairly decent style of basketball since joining LeBron James in Cleveland and, as he Tweeted today, he wants to remain in Wine & Gold for another shot this season.

It’s been rumored that the Cavaliers are shopping the services of the undersized guard but haven’t seriously considered a deal as of today.  (On the other hand, it’s very likely that Delonte West will be moved at some point this offseason).  But there have definitely been some interested teams that have entered the Mo Williams sweepstakes – including Sacramento and Portland.  In response, Mo Williams had this to say via his Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon:

Pls don’t trade me, I’m not ready to go. I’m begging. My work ain’t done yet. I’m on both knees….pls. I’m serious

If I had any say in the matter – which, unfortunately, I don’t – I would certainly vote to keep Mo around.  He’s been an excellent teammate over the last two seasons and, even when he’s played poorly, he is a competitor.  He comes to win every night and, if surrounded by the right guys, could be a very, very good player like he was in the 2008-09 season.

In an interview with the Plain Dealer’s Brian Windhorst, Mo went on to say that he strongly felt that his friend and teammate, LeBron James, would be in a Cavalier uniform again next season.

i think Mo would be great if he played the shooting guard position.

I’m not sure Mo could play shooting guard simply because he is way too small. At the 2, Mo would be going toe-to-toe with guys like Kobe Bryant and Ray Allen – both guys would wear him out on the offensive end. His skill set fits the SG position; but his size really doesn’t.

Nothing accomplished on draft night has scared the living shit out of me. Could this be the end of the road for LeBron and Cleveland? No Izzo? No draft moves? Lots of No’s recently

I really hope not. And, especially after reading Paddy’s piece, I’m growing increasingly irked with LeBron James. Say it ain’t so..

I hope I am wrong about it. I hope this is somehow all a master plan for him to get a bunch of chump teams to dismantle themselves in an attempt to sign him or something.

      But I doubt it.

Well it would be great if he weakened the NBA by this plan, but I really hate to say it, I think he is gone. :(

Now I almost want to see Wade-Bosh-Lebron on a team just so they can dominate for the next six years. Might as well get Melo on that team with a sign-trade next year.
