Cavs Prevail After Late LeBron Surge
Well, in the last two games, Cleveland has certainly done a great job when it comes to turning nobody into somebody. Even if it is just for one night. The Cavs were beaten on Thursday night on a buzzer beater by Sundiata Gaines and they were almost done in by Rasual Butler on Saturday night. Since I am sure many of you have absolutely no idea who Rasual Butler is, let me tell you a little bit about the guy: Butler is a 6’7″ forward out of La Salle and has been in the league for 7 years. He has [...]
Buzzer Beater Stuns Cavs
The Cavaliers are in the midst of their longest road trip of the year and it certainly showed on Thursday night. After playing with very little energy and enthusiasm for 43 minutes, LeBron James took over the game and gave his team the lead with about a minute remaining. James stepped to the line with 1:15 left in the fourt quarter and the Cavs trailed by three. After canning the front end of a two shot foul, James misfired on the second but Anderson Varejao tipped the ball back to James who calmly stepped back and knocked home a three [...]
Last Stop: Salt Lake City
Howdy there ya outdoor enthusiasts! Utah is home to some of the most beautiful National Parks and some of the most intense ski resorts in America. But thanks to the duckbill dinosaur, it’s also home to the biggest footprints in the world! That is, only until LeBron James and Co. come to town and leave a big, fat sole mark on the forehead of Carlos Boozer and the rest of those purple divas. And here’s how it breaks down: The Utah Jazz are looking for a little payback after the Cavaliers took ‘em down in the Q back in November. [...]
Bad Business Move or Not, Shaq Needs to Demand the Ball
As we approach the midway point in the Cavs’ 2009-10 run toward a Championship, I am growing a bit uneasy with Shaquille O’Neal’s situation. O’Neal was brought to Cleveland in an attempt to matchup with guys like Dwight Howard and Kendrick Perkins and not to become a main focal point to Mike Brown’s offense. Just last year, the Shaqtus was able to run the floor with the Phoenix Suns and posted an impressive 17.8 points and 8.4 rebounds a game. O’Neal sank 512 of 841 attempts last season and shot close to 60% from the line. In 34 games this [...]
Cavs Hold Off Warriors
The Golden State Warriors and our Cleveland Cavaliers have a knack for the close games. Cleveland has won the previous three contests by a combined 7 points and they kept with that same pattern on Monday night. Cleveand held a 14 point advantage with five minutes to go before an 8-0 run capped by consecutive threes from Stephen Curry and Corey Maggette cut the lead to six. The Cavs pushed their lead to 11 with two minutes remaining but saw their lead dwindle to just 3 with under a minute left. Much like they did against the Wizards on Sunday, [...]
LeBron, Cavs Surge Past Blazers
As the clock ran down in the opening quarter, LeBron James calmly sank a long-range jumpshot to boost his first period point total to 20. James poured in 11 more in the second period and had his team ahead 64-49 at the midway point. Behind 34 points from Brandon Roy, the Blazers were able to chip away at the Cavaliers’ lead and were within four heading into the final period. LeBron and Co. then outscored their opponents 24-16 to close out a 106-94 victory over the Portland Blazers. James was 13 of 19 from the field in a 41 point [...]
Cavs Outplayed in Denver
A nagging knee injury kept Carmelo Anthony on the sideline for a much anticipated ESPN matchup between two of the game’s biggest stars. But a late Denver run sank the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Pepsi Center on Friday night. LeBron James poured in a game-high 35 points on a 12 of 28 showing from the field. He added 7 assists and 6 rebounds to the stat line but also recorded a team-worst 8 turnovers on the night. Mo Williams added 11 points on 3 of 7 from downtown while posting 6 assists in the losing effort. Neither Mo nor LeBron [...]
Do You Want Fries With That?
Welcome to the Gospel! Louise Ballast operated the Humpty Dumpty Barrel Drive-In in Denver throughout the early 1900s and was constantly looking for original ways to improve simple meals. One day he decided to put a slice of cheese on the burger, heated the cheese, and decided that the taste of the cheese went well with the beef. Today, the cheeseburger is arguable the most recognized dish on American menus. And it all started in Denver Colorado, home of the Denver Nuggets. And most importantly, the site of the Cavaliers’ next taste of victory. And here’s how it breaks down: [...]
Cavs Firepower Too Much for Wiz
The Cavaliers jumped out to an early advantage and pounded the Wizards for their 28th win of the season. Up six points heading into the second period, the Cleveland Cavaliers established their post presence as Shaquille O’Neal poured in 13 points. The Big Fella finished the game with 17 points and 6 boards in just 17 minutes of work. Five other Cavaliers netted double-figures in a winning effort. December’s Eastern Conference Player of the Month, LeBron James, led the way. The King connected on a wild over-the-backboard shot for two of his 23 points. He added 8 assists and 7 [...]
Welcome to the Gun Show
Cleveland strung a seven game win streak into the New Year but fell to the Charlotte Bobcats in a disappointing effort on Sunday evening. They’re still winners of eight of their last ten games and have won 13 of 16 contests on their home floor. LeBron and Co. will play host to Gilbert Arenas and the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night. And here’s how it breaks down: At 11-21, the Washington Wizards come into Wednesday night’s matchup as the cellar dwellers of the Southeast division. After missing much of the last two years with knee injuries, Gilbert Arenas enters the [...]
