Cavaliers Set Suns
On March 12 of last year, the Cleveland Cavaliers came into the US Amway Arena and took out the Phoenix Suns 119-111. LeBron James put up 34 points in his third straight triple double and Mo Williams added 30 on the night. After rattling off a league-best 18 wins at home the Suns hosted the Cleveland Cavaliers again on Monday night and, this time, the Cavs set the Suns 109-91. LeBron James poured in a game-high 29 points to go with 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and a pair of steals while Mo Williams tallied 24 points, 16 of those coming [...]
Take Two: Cavs Take On Suns
Our Cleveland Cavaliers kicked off the five days ‘til Christmas countdown with a loss in the Lonestar State. But c’est la vie my good fellows. They will be back in action again tonight in the Valley of the Sun to take on Steve Nash and Co. And here’s how it breaks down: The Phoenix Suns enter Monday night’s matchup with a league-best 18 game home win streak. Each of their five starters average double digits in the scoring column with Steve Nash as the anchor. Nash accounts for better than 18 points and 11 assists per game while Amar’e Stoudemire [...]
Dirk-less Mavs Drop Cavs
The Dallas Mavericks harassed Cleveland on the defensive end of the floor for most of the game and held one of the league’s most explosive duos to 33 total points. LeBron James scored a game-high 25 points but attempted 23 shots on the night. James was 3 of 11 in the second half and managed only a pair in the final period. Mo Williams only accounted for 8 points on 4 of 9 from the field. Anderson Varejao and Delonte West led the charge off the bench and managed to keep Cleveland within striking distance for most of the game. [...]
First Stop: Dallas, Texas
While many of us on the east coast spent the day making snowmen, our Cavaliers were headed west to begin their toughest road trip of the young season. And, speakin’ of young, Mo Williams celebrated his 27th birthday yesterday on the team plane getting blasted by birthday punches from all of his teammates. Happy Birthday Mo! And here’s how tonight’s game breaks down: The Mavericks will enter Sunday night’s match up as winners of 5 of their last 6. Dirk Nowitzki is among the league leaders in average points per game with 26.1 and he adds more than 8 [...]
Cavs Buck Milwaukee at Home
Ask any member of any championship team and they’ll tell you defense wins championships. The Cavaliers only put up 85 points on Friday night but played stellar defense and limited the Milwaukee Bucks to 82 on their way to their twentieth win of the season. LeBron James led the offensive attack with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists while Mo Williams added many of his 17 points in the second half. Delonte West, who made his best performance of the year in the first meeting with the Bucks, added a solid 12 points and 4 rebounds to the stat sheet. [...]
Cavs Chug Home to Take on Bucks
Cheers Gospelers (and Gospelettes)! As if we needed another reason to stumble on down to the Q, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced on Monday afternoon that they have added a new name to the arena; let us all welcome Tsingtao, China’s most popular beer company, to our home. And what better way to welcome them to our home than by whoopin’ up on a team from Wisconsin (the state accounting for biggest consumption of alcohol in the United States). Oh, the irony of it all… …and here’s how it breaks down: Milwaukee will enter Friday night’s matchup coming off of back-to-back [...]
Mo, LeBron and Co. Take Down 76ers
LeBron James canned two big threes in the fourth quarter to knot the game at 96 and then passed the torch to Mo Williams to deliver the knock out. After putting up on 7 points through the first three and a half quarters of play, Mo sank two jumpers in the closing minutes to give the Cavaliers a 108-101 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The King gave another royal performance on Wednesday night connecting on 12 of 26 shots for 36 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. Mo Williams struggled early and nailed his only two field goals in the final minutes but [...]
Cavs Muscle Nets in the Q
Since being traded to Cleveland on Draft Day, Shaquille O’Neal has continuously stated that “together [Shaq] and Z are the best center in the league.” And it certainly seemed that way on Tuesday night. Shaq and Zydrunas Ilgauskas combined for 32 points and 10 rebounds and controlled the paint throughout the second half. New Jersey was within two midway through the third quarter before the King took over. James scored 10 of the Cavs’ last 12 points to end the period and put his team up by eight. Late in the fourth quarter, Jamario Moon went soaring to the basket [...]
Cavs Face Off Against Nets at the Q
‘Tis the season Gospel faithful. There are only ten days until Christmas Day. And that means there are only ten days until the Cleveland Cavaliers topple the Lakers in LA. Therefore, it’s only fitting that I provide you with the ten biggest headlines in Tuesday night’s contest with the New Jersey Nets. This is what it looks like:
LeBron, Cavs Dunk Thunder
In their 2008-09 run to the Eastern Conference Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers two-headed offensive attack consisting of LeBron James and Mo Williams recorded a league best 46.2 points per game combined. This year, the duo rank third in the NBA at 44.9 points per night. The dynamic duo was at their best on Sunday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder and torched the home team for a combined 66 points. King James poured in a game-high 44 points on 16 of 29 from the field and 5 of 8 from deep; he added 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 steals to [...]
