LeBron and Co. took their fourth straight against Western Conference opponents on Sunday evening.
The Cavaliers remained perfect in games that Mo Williams tops the 20-point plateau and ripped the Rockets 108-83 at the Q.
Mo Williams canned a three-point attempt in the final seconds of the first half to put Cleveland up by three at the break. And the Wine and Gold held the lead for good after that. Led by the league’s most explosive scoring duo, the Cavaliers outscored the Rockets 32-15 to take a commanding lead. LeBron and Mo combined to make five long distance attempts in less than three minutes early in the third quarter to extend Cleveland’s lead to 15. From that point, Houston never got within 15.
LeBron James knocked down 12 of 20 attempts for 29 points and added 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals on the night. Mo canned 4 of 6 from long distance in a 20 point-6 rebound-5 assist performance. Shaquille O’Neal chipped in with 13 points and 11 rebounds while adding 4 assists and Zydrunas Ilgauskas came off the bench for 12 points and 5 boards.
Cleveland’s bench turned in another outstanding effort in the victory. Delonte West put up 7 points, 3 assists and 3 rebounds while Anderson Varejao notched a career-high 4 thefts to go with 4 points and 6 boards.
The Cavaliers outscored Houston 52-16 in the paint while shooting better than 47% from the field.
Their 10-game home win streak is the longest active streak in the league and they have won four consecutive games, all against Western Conference teams. LeBron and Co. will carry that streak to Atlanta to take on the Hawks on Tuesday night.
