The Dallas Mavericks harassed Cleveland on the defensive end of the floor for most of the game and held one of the league’s most explosive duos to 33 total points. LeBron James scored a game-high 25 points but attempted 23 shots on the night. James was 3 of 11 in the second half and managed only a pair in the final period. Mo Williams only accounted for 8 points on 4 of 9 from the field.
Anderson Varejao and Delonte West led the charge off the bench and managed to keep Cleveland within striking distance for most of the game. Mr. Efficiency was the only player to notch a positive efficiency rating and added 13 points and 8 boards while Delonte West poured in 18 points to go with 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the contest.
Shaquille O’Neal tossed in three free throws but connected on only one of seven attempts in a subpar performance.
After a less than stellar start to a brutal road trip, Cleveland will look to right the ship tomorrow night against Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns.
