Mo Williams was selected to his first career All-Star Game last season and became the King’s trusty sidekick in the Cavs’ two-headed attack.  His newly obtained superstardom landed him several endorsement deals including his own brand of “Mo Gotti” basketball shoes.  But with the addition of legendary big man Shaquille O’Neal, Williams has shed some of the spotlight and has quietly flown under the radar throughout the beginning of the Cavs’ 2009-10 quest for an NBA Championship.

Saturday night against the Dallas Mavericks may have been his best performance of this young season; Mo scored 25 on a perfect 7-of-7 from downtown, the first NBA player to do so since the Hornets’ Bobby Jackson canned seven straight on January 11, 2008.  Over the last ten games, MoGotti is averaging 19.3 points and shooting 53% from deep.

Mo provides the Robin to LeBron’s Batman and leads the charge for the Wine and Gold while James takes a breath to start the fourth quarter.  His performance on Saturday night, however, was not the only history-making performance the Cavs achieved.

– The King handed out 11 dimes in the first half, tying his career-high for assists in a half.  His 8 first quarter assists marked the first time a Cavalier player recorded that many assists in one quarter since Eric Snow on January 8, 2005.

–Anderson Varejao became the first Cavs’ reserve to post a perfect 7-of-7 since Tyrone Hill on March 21, 1996.

–Delonte West’s 10 points and 10 assists marked the first time a Cavalier has recorded a points-assists double double off the bench since Brevin Knight on April 19, 2000.
