Inside the Locker Room: A Closer Look at the Cavs
There’s just something about multi-million dollar athletes that cause people to mistake them for superhuman beings with fat pockets and big heads. However, I was given the unique opportunity to explore the depths of the Cavaliers locker room before and after the game on Saturday night against the Utah Jazz. I discovered that the exact opposite was true of these professionals; they are people just like you and me. 5:45 pm I arrived at the Quicken Loans Arena and took a walk down to the court. While standing courtside, Zydrunas Ilgauskas finished his warm-up and prior to returning to [...]
JJ Hickson: Sophomore Stud
After his rookie campaign was cut short by back spasms, JJ Hickson spent much of his summer with the King of Cleveland preparing his mind and his body for the long haul of the 2009-10 season with the Cavaliers. Hickson has taken full advantage of his relationship with LeBron, saying, “I have learned a lot of things on and off of the court [from LeBron]. I think that one of the biggest things that I have learned is to be consistent. I think that I have been consistent since I have been starting and I am just trying to take [...]
Jersey Change for LeBron?
After his outstanding performance against the Miami Heat on Thursday night, the King announced that he will be changing jerseys after the 2009-10 season. (Settle down New York, he’s just changing his number) The King announced that he may rid himself of the No. 23 in deference to Michael Jordan and sport the number he has worn during the Olympics, No. 6. Sales of the No. 6 jersey could bump LeBron on the league jersey-sales list, where he is currently behind Lakers’ star Kobe Bryant. Many people have speculated that this may be an attempt by LeBron to persuade the [...]

LeBron’s Band Rocks Jazz in Fourth Straight Victory
On a night in which the Wine and Gold were without Shaquille O’Neal, the Cavs still held their own in the paint behind yet another solid performance by JJ Hickson. Just two nights after setting a career-high in points, the sophomore forward shined again, scoring 20 points on 7 of 13 from the field in 38 minutes of work. Cleveland led through three quarters of play but caved on a late surge by Utah and surrendered the lead with 1:56 to play on a free throw by former Cavalier Carlos Boozer. Then the King stole the show. LeBron James scored [...]
Cavs Top Jazz in Final Seconds
LeBron James has done it again, this time against the Utah Jazz. James completed a 3-point play with 28 seconds left in the game to put the Cavaliers up 103-101. The Cavaliers switched up the starting line up for a change as Mo Williams came off the bench and Shaquille O’Neal was out with a strained shoulder. Cleveland had plenty of offensive production as LeBron James, Mo Williams, and J.J. Hickson all scored 20+ points. Hickson surpassed his previous career high in points with 20 points Saturday. Hickson’s previous mark came against the Miami Heat on Thursday as he tallied [...]
LeBron and Co. Running on Diesel
After beginning the 2009-10 campaign with back-to-back losses to Eastern Conference foes Boston and Toronto, critics began to claim the Cavaliers were overrated and Shaquille O’Neal was too old, too big, and too slow to play with the premier centers in the NBA. The last two games, however, the Wine and Gold have began the game by going right to their dominate post presence and setting the tone. In Wednesday night’s matchup with Dwight Howard, it took O’Neal and the Cavs just over two minutes to force Superman into foul trouble. The Big Witness Protection nearly matched Howard point-for-point in [...]
LeBron, Cavs Bring Heat
Guten tag Cavs fans! In a star-studded matchup (complete with Michael Jordan sitting courtside) the Wine and Gold brought the heat and pulled out another victory to complete the sweep in the sunshine state. Just like they did in Orlando on Wednesday night, the Cavs went to Shaquille O’Neal on their first two possessions of the game and getting the big fella involved early paid off again. LeBron, again, led his Cleveland team with 34 points on 8 of 20 from the field while dishing out 9 assists and gathering 4 boards. Mo Williams continued his red-hot performance from the night [...]
