After a tough loss to the Wizards in the nation’s capital on Wednesday night, LeBron James and Co. bounced back and defeated the Pacers in the Hoosier state on Friday.
The Wine and Gold held a five point lead at halftime but, after a poor performance in the third quarter, they trailed by five going into the final period.
And the King took over from there. TheBron nearly matched the Pacers point-for-point in the final period, tallying 10 of his season-high 40 points. James added 9 boards and 7 assists to lift the Cavs to a 105-95 victory in his strongest performance of the season. Sophomore forward JJ Hickson rediscovered his touch again tonight and posted 15 points on 7 of 9 from the field. Mo Williams struggled shooting the ball throughout most of the night but shot a perfect 11 of 11 from the free throw line to chip in 18 points on the night while his back-court counterpart, Anthony Parker, was 5 of 6 in a 12 point performance.
After missing two games with a bruised hip, Anderson Varejao returned to the floor and provided a much-needed spark off the bench. The Wild Thing was 5 of 6 from the field in a 10 point and 7 rebound performance for the Wine and Gold.
The Cavs will play back-to-back games for the second time in five days when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers back at the Quicken Loans Arena on Saturday night. Tip-off will be at 7:30.
