LeBron, Cavs Bring Heat
Guten tag Cavs fans! In a star-studded matchup (complete with Michael Jordan sitting courtside) the Wine and Gold brought the heat and pulled out another victory to complete the sweep in the sunshine state.
Just like they did in Orlando on Wednesday night, the Cavs went to Shaquille O’Neal on their first two possessions of the game and getting the big fella involved early paid off again. LeBron, again, led his Cleveland team with 34 points on 8 of 20 from the field while dishing out 9 assists and gathering 4 boards. Mo Williams continued his red-hot performance from the night before to tally 25 points on 10-15 from the floor (5 of 7 from downtown) and the Shaqalier added 14 points on a night in which he drained 6 of 10 free throws (yes, I said free throws!).
Dwayne Wade provided the punch for the Miami Heat, leading all scorers with 36 points on 9 of 21 from the field and Michael Beasley recorded a season-high 24 points. The Heat shot 46.1% from the field and drained 7 tres but it wasn’t enough to slow down the sweet-shooting Cavaliers lineup.
The best performance of the night was put together by second year forward JJ Hickson. Hickson has started the last three games for Cleveland after Coach Mike Brown sent Anderson Varejao to the Cavalier pine to provide a much needed spark and the young man took advantage of his time tonight. Hickson was 7 of 9 shooting on his way to an 18 point performance. Jamario Moon, as well, put together his best game thus far as a Cavalier and did so against his former team. Moon dropped 8 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in over 30 minutes of work.
Cleveland will head home and return to action Saturday night against the Utah Jazz, who will enter their Friday night roadtrip against the 76ers with a record of 3-5.
