After a Thursday night Turkey Day at Dan Gilbert’s royal mansion in Michigan, the Cavs showed up and fell victim to the Charlotte Bobcats (and tryptophan) in Friday night’s matchup.
On Friday night, however, the Wine and Gold came out hotter than their Thanksgiving turkey. The Cavs shot 68.4% from the field to take a 68-55 lead over the Mavs after just one half of play. King James and Mo Williams shot a combined 19 of 32 (59.4%) from the floor on their way to an even 25 points apiece. LeBron added 5 boards and 12 assists and Mo was a perfect 7 of 7 [...]

Thanksgiving Day Parade
Almost 400 years ago, people inhabiting the Plymouth colony shared an autumn harvest with the Wampanoag Indians for what many consider the first Thanksgiving celebration in the colonies. The harvest meal has become a symbol of cooperation between English colonists and the Native Americans. Today, we spend the fourth Thursday of each November among family and friends giving thanks for a year worth of hardships and blessings.
Cavaliers fans sure have a lot to be thankful for this season. We’re fourteen games into this young 2009-10 campaign and our Cleveland team is perched atop the Central Division with an 11-4 record [...]
The Wine and Gold provided the Pistons with an early exit after a clean sweep in the first round of last year’s playoffs. King James and his troops returned to the Palace for the first time since that series and had a pre-Thanksgiving feast compliments of their conference foes.
Cleveland was on fire for much of the first half and led by 18 at intermission. Boobie Gibson continued his sweet shooting ways to lead the Cavs’ three-point assault off the bench, canning three tres in a 13 point performance. Mo Williams tallied 10 points and 7 assists through 24 minutes of play to [...]
James Named Player of the Week
For the first time this season and the twenty-first time in his career, LeBron James was named as this week’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
In four games this week, the King averaged an NBA-best 34.3 points per game on 58% shooting. LeBron also tallied 5.8 rebounds per game to go along with 9.3 assists during a week in which he led the Cavs to a 3-1 record. He was the only player in the Eastern Conference to record 30 points in the Cavs’ first four games in five nights stretch of the season.
TheBron recorded a double-double in the Cavaliers’ [...]
Wild Wild West
Delonte West was a key part of last season’s success.
Delonte West poses a difficult problem these days for our Cavaliers. And it has little to do with his off court issues.
It seems as if Coach Mike Brown is having a difficult time finding a way to integrate Delonte into his lineup rotation this season. The Wine and Gold have been without their young guard for many games this season as he deals with bipolar disorder but, when he is there, he isn’t seeing the floor too much.
After accounting for 11.7 points per game and more than 3 assists and rebounds [...]
The Wine and Gold returned to their championship team identity by turning up the heat on the defensive end during the fourth quarter for the second straight night.
After jumping out to an early 13-point lead after one period the Cavaliers went into cruise control and were outscored by 19 through the next two quarters. With LeBron James starting the final period on the pine and his team trailing by six, the Cavs stepped their game up and held Philadelphia to a mere 10 points in the final minutes.
Cleveland’s dynamic duo shined again as LeBron James scored a game-high 32 points [...]
After a tough loss to the Wizards in the nation’s capital on Wednesday night, LeBron James and Co. bounced back and defeated the Pacers in the Hoosier state on Friday.
The Wine and Gold held a five point lead at halftime but, after a poor performance in the third quarter, they trailed by five going into the final period.
And the King took over from there. TheBron nearly matched the Pacers point-for-point in the final period, tallying 10 of his season-high 40 points. James added 9 boards and 7 assists to lift the Cavs to a 105-95 victory in his strongest performance [...]
What’s On the Menu?
Let’s take a trip back to 2008. Or 2007. Or 2006 for that matter. And let’s remember for a minute when this Wiz-Cavs rivalry began: Our Wine and Gold eliminated the Wiz Kids from the playoffs in three consecutive years and DeShawn Stevenson (who?) repeatedly called out the King. And repeatedly got it thrown right back in his face (I think that’s what the whole ‘I can’t feel my face’ routine means) in the form of yet another early exit from the postseason. Ahhh…
Wizards’ fans definitely remember those days because the boo birds were out in the Verizon Center on Wednesday [...]
Hickson, LeBron Drop Warriors
Walter Hill’s 1979 film, The Warriors
LeBron James and Co. were heard in the locker room prior to Tuesday night’s contest at the Q whispering, “Warriors, come out and play-ayy.”
Okay, I admit, that may not be 100% factual (then again, it might be); that was just a tribute to my Pops.
Anyways, let’s get to it!
JJ Hickson continued his outstanding performance recording yet another night in which he produced a career-high in points. The second year forward was a perfect 9 of 9 from the field to contribute 21 points while pulling down 9 rebounds in the Cavs’ fifth straight victory.
The King recorded 31 [...]
