Cavs to Workout May
It seems like the Cavaliers are on the hunt for a backup Power Forward. This weeks prey, former Tar Heel Sean May. The Cavaliers are planning to workout May after seeing him in Las Vegas for the NBA’s Summer League. May seems like he would be a good fit in Cleveland. He has great touch for a big man and has a knack for securing the rebounds. May is a former 1st rounder who’s string of injuries has limited his success in the NBA. In recent years, May has been a bit on the heavy side. But reports out of [...]
Anthony Parker Press Conference
The Cleveland Cavaliers have officially signed free agent guard, Anthony Parker. The Cavaliers reached an agreement to sign Parker last week, however, Parker didn’t officially sign until today. The signing of Parker came after the Cavaliers decided to resign forward, Anderson Varejao. Although details were not released, Parker’s contract is rumored to be $3 Million over 2 years. Parker, 34, played in 80 games (71 starts) this past season for the Toronto Raptors and averaged 10.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and career highs of 3.4 assists and 1.3 steals in 33.0 minutes per game. He tied for 10th in the NBA [...]
Cavs Aren’t Done Yet
After resigning Anderson Varejao to a ridiculously large contract and signing guard, Anthony Parker in free agency, the Cavs still have some work left to do. Early reports are saying that the Cavaliers are showing interest in free agent forward, Matt Barnes. The Cavaliers are wanting to sign a good combo forward, one who can play defense and shoot the ball. The Cavs are also looking into signing Linas Kleiza or resigning Wally Szczerbiak. I don’t think the Cavaliers can lose here. All three of these guys can bring something to the team, 3 point ability. Barnes, Kleiza, and Wally [...]

2009: Year of the Twitter?
One of the most popular social networking sites, Twitter, is becoming increasingly popular among athletes. More and more athletes have been flocking to the popular social networking site since Shaquille O’Neal joined over a year ago. O’Neal is the pioneer of athlete tweeters and has even become one of its biggest recruiters. His newest recruit being that of Cavs All-Star Point Guard, Mo Williams. There are plenty of NBA “tweeters” out there, Dwight Howard, Ron Artest, Paul Pierce, and Lamar Odom are just to name a few. There’s no doubt that Twitter is improving players fan base and popularity, let [...]
Cavs to sign Parker
After resigning Anderson Varejao on Wednesday evening, the Cavaliers made another move by agreeing to a contract with Anthony Parker. Parker, formerly with the Toronto Raptors, fills a major need for the Cavs as a perimeter defender who can shoot the ball. Parker was highly valued by the Cavs and was one of their top free agent prospects. GM Danny Ferry has been in talks with Parker since day 1 of free agency. The Cavaliers looked into a sign and trade deal with the Raptors, but after Hedo Turkoglu decided to sign with Toronto the Cavs began to negotiate with [...]
Cavs Resign Varejao
The Cavaliers have finally made a move in free agency, one that Cavs fans probably won’t be too satisfied about. The Cleveland Cavaliers and free agent Forward Anderson Varejao have agreed to a 6 year, $50 Million contract. Both sides have reached a deal a week after Varejao opted out of his previous contract with the Cavs in which he would have made over $6 Million in 2009. Andy’s new deal with the Cavs will have him earning $8.3 Million a year for the next 6 years. Like many Cavalier fans I hope that Danny Ferry has the intention of [...]
Pistons Hire Cavs John Kuester
Joe Dumars said he wanted a coach that had “experience”. Little did we know he meant an assistant coach with experience, not a head coach. Kuester was in Detroit when Larry Brown was there and has always been an assistant until now. He will be the new Pistons head coach after Avery Johnson turned them down yesterday.
Cavs meet with Channing Frye
Teams will begin signing free agents on Wednesday, the Cavaliers however, will most likely not. After scoring big by trading for Shaquille O’Neal the Cavs have run into some bad luck. After losing out on Charlie Villanueva to Detroit, Ron Artest to Los Angeles, and Trevor Ariza to Houston, the Cavaliers are making yet another push to sign someone. That “someone” being Forward, Channing Frye. Frye met with Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry on Monday at the teams practice facility. Frye said that he enjoyed his visit to Cleveland and it is one of a number of teams he’s considering. Frye [...]
