Cavs Waive Kinsey

The Cleveland Cavaliers announced earlier today that the team has waived guard, Tarence Kinsey.

Kinsey originally signed with the team as a free agent on August 1st, 2008. He played in 50 games (three starts) during the 2008-09 season with averages of 2.0 points and 0.8 rebounds in 5.5 minutes per game. In his three starts, Kinsey averaged 7.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 1.0 steal in 25.6 minutes per game. During the 2009 NBA Playoffs, he saw action in nine games and averaged 0.4 points in 1.2 minutes per game.

Kinsey had a decent showing during this years NBA Summer League when he averaged 12.8 ppg, 4.4 rpg, and 1.6 rpg.

TK had a nonguaranteed contract and most likely would’ve been used as a trade asset.

When he got his DUI I knew he was doomed. Better luck somewhere else…

He most likely will have better luck elsewhere. Thats what happens in Cleveland. Players always do better once they leave Cleveland.
