One of the most popular social networking sites, Twitter, is becoming increasingly popular among athletes. More and more athletes have been flocking to the popular social networking site since Shaquille O’Neal joined over a year ago. O’Neal is the pioneer of athlete tweeters and has even become one of its biggest recruiters. His newest recruit being that of Cavs All-Star Point Guard, Mo Williams.

There are plenty of NBA “tweeters” out there, Dwight Howard, Ron Artest, Paul Pierce, and Lamar Odom are just to name a few. There’s no doubt that Twitter is improving players fan base and popularity, let alone making twitter the new “addiction” in the NBA. Teams and players are using Twitter to reach out to fans and inform them about whats going on.
First Shaq, now Mo, this Cavs fan wants to know when Lebron James is going to get with the times and become a part of the Twitterverse. Come on Lebron, it’s the 21st Century, even Mark Cuban has one for pete sake! So do yourself and Cavs fans a favor and sign up already.
If Lebron were to get a twitter, what would you like to see his screen name be?
