Shaq, “A Ring for the King, Baby!”

Lebron's New Bodyguard
Blogging about the Cavs this coming season might even be more entertaining than watching the games. Now that they have another huge personality with the team we should expect quotes (from the upcoming SI Magazine) like this for at least another year.
“Here’s my motivational slogan for next season,” said Shaquille O’Neal last Saturday by phone from his home in Orlando. “A ring for the King. He wants one, and I want another one. A ring for the King, baby!”
“Everybody is going to say, ‘Whose team is it?’ “said O’Neal, two days after the Cavaliers acquired him from the Suns for Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, a second-round pick and $500,000. I want you to print that in double-black-bold print. It’s his team. He’s the King, and the Cavs have hired a known hit-man bodyguard. My job is to protect him.”

This is exactly what I want to hear from The Big Diesel. He knows that this is Lebron’s team and he’s perfectly ok with that.
June 30th, 2009 at 4:03 pmLets just hope he keeps it that way the entire season. Do you think another personality like Sheed, Artest, AI, or another vet could be bad for this team?
June 30th, 2009 at 5:53 pmadmin (Probably Zach)- Would you really want to stack a team by adding veterans to a solid player in his prime? If my memory serves correctly, that sort of thing backfired on a certain team in purple and gold a few years ago.
