Paul Harris Chooses the Cavs

paul_harrisPaul Harris has decided to join the Cavs summer league team choosing them over the Bulls and Timberwolves. Harris declared for the pro draft after his junior and went undrafted Thursday night. The shooting guard from Syracuse had a successful junior year, but many people thought he still need some development before going pro. Now the Cavs will get a crack at him and see if he can develop into a player. He is very athletic player with long arms for his position, but is very raw. He shot over 30% from the arc his sophomore season but went under 30% his junior year. Here was his scouting report before the draft from ESPN:

Positives:

  • Strong, physical player with excellent athleticism
  • Long arms
  • Can defend three or four positions on the floor
  • Good ball handler, can play the point in a pinch
  • Excellent motor
  • Very good rebounder for his size

    • Negatives:

  • Lack of size at the position is a concern
  • Still not a big-time scorer yet
  • Lack of a reliable jump shot
  • Doesn’t create a lot of offense for himself
  • Still raw, a little bit older than most prospects
      •         BallHype: hype it up!
