LeBron Sits, Cavs Lose In Overtime

The 76ers got a break tonight that many teams this season haven’t had on the Cavs home court, no LeBron James. LeBron and other starters rested on the bench for tonights final home and regular season game. The Cavs reserves did take the game into overtime only losing by one point to the 76ers, 111-110. Daniel Gibson added 28 points in the loss, but the real story is that the Cavs feel one game short of the 1985-86 Celtics for home record (40-1).

I don’t mind not tying this record if it brings a trophy back to Cleveland. The Cavs team have already broken a ton of franchise and NBA records this season, so what is really going to matter if you tie another. I think if the Cavs had the chance to beat the record then maybe you play your starters, but to just tie the record would be silly. I think that resting Lebron and company should help them get mentally and physically prepared for a long post season.
